The editor was born and raised in Konya, Turkey. He graduated as MD from the Faculty of Medicine of Suleyman Demirel University. Isparta, Turkey in 2000. Currently, he works in Department of Psychiatry of Meram Faculty of Medicine of Necmettin Erbakan University in Konya, Turkey. He is married and has three children. Pharmacotherapy is the most commonly used treatment method for psychiatric disorders. Many patients experience medical diseases concurrent with psychiatric disorders. In addition, some patients suffer from medical problems such as metabolic complications, neutropenia and electrolyte imbalance due to the use of psychopharmacological treatments. Therefore, current medical conditions and the medical history of patients with psychiatric disorders are important factors that can affect the choice of psychotropic drugs in the treatment of psychiatric disorders. Recently, there has been growing interest in the use of psychotropic drugs in patients with general medical conditions.
