"Have You Seen Him?" is a book inspired by the true story of Adel, a young woman who crossed an uncharted land of almost 20, 000 kilometers. Spanning two continents, from Poland all the way to Russia’s Far East and back, Adel went in search of her husband Itchale, who disappeared during World Word II. Adel and her husband Itchale escaped Poland during the Nazi occupation and traveled to Lviv (Lvov in Russian) in Ukraine. They came to Lviv with nothing but a suitcase and hope for a better life. Itchale went looking for work every day in order to provide food and shelter for Adel in this tough time during the war. In the midst of these trying times, Russians began kidnapping young men for their war effort. Soon, Itchale was caught suddenly disappeared, a victim of the kidnappings. This journey begins with Adel embarking on her journey, by foot and train, 12, 000 miles (approximately 20, 000 kilometers) through several countries searching for her husband. This is a story about a "woman of valor" Adel, who crosses two continents – Europe and Asia, power by a search of true love. Continuing through struggle and pain, their souls yearn to see one another again. Fast-forward eighty years after WWII and history has repeated itself when Russia decided to invade Ukraine. There are many women and children leaving Ukraine into Poland to escape the Russian oppression and war leaving behind their husbands to fight to protect their country. "Have You Seen Him?" is a journey of love and faith during World War II. One can only imagine how many women have felt the same way Adel did when her husband was kidnapped by the Russians during the war, not knowing if he was still alive or if he’d ever return. Dr. Henya Shanun-Klein is a dedicated author who portrays this story in a factual frame with a sense of faith, dedication and love.
