John Marriott was born and raised in 1931 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Since then, he has been the parish priest, a high school teacher, and a college and university lecturer. At sixty-three, he finally obtained a Ph D in English. He began writing fiction in earnest in 1995. He currently lives in British Columbia, Canada.
