Here Laura defines her own mental illness and shares what it’s like to live with voices. She also addresses what she believes to be key issues: learning to live with a severe and enduring mental illness; the recovery process; and what those with this form of illness face, be it experiences along their journey or the false beliefs, attitudes, and mysteries surrounding mental illness.

Laura Ruth, MSc, Dip SW, has served others in the UK and around the globe. She has worked as a missionary, chaplain, itinerant minister, humanitarian aid worker, motivational speaker, and as a registered social worker in child protection and mental health. Laura is also an artist, a keen amateur photographer, and a mother.
