Richard Pearce was born in England in 1933. He served in the army in Malaya in 1952–53. Later he became a police officer in London. He has three children by his first wife Sheila. Retired, he moved to Australia in 2006 with his partner, Diana. He was a regular cyclist and athlete and is now a keen golfer.   Roy Mc Taggart was born in England in 1933.He went to naval school and later also became a police officer in Rhodesia. He moved to New Zealand in 1959. Married to Alma, they have three children. He is retired and busy rebuilding his house after the Christchurch earthquakes. He has been a keen sportsman all his life.
