He has served as president- Arkansas Baptist State Convention; Chairman – Board of Trustees for Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; Chairman – Nominating Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention; Member – Committee on Committees of the Southern Baptist Convention. He is married with two grown daughters.
