Just ‘dig in your own backyard!’ The central idea of the book is that one need not look elsewhere for opportunity, achievement, or fortune; the resources to achieve all good things are present in one’s own community. 2. Great men are often plain men. Greatness does not come by gaining some ‘important’ office.
3. Figure out what people want and then give it to them.
