Ted Simon, 1931 in Deutschland geboren und in London aufgewachsen, arbeitete als Journalist u.a. für Daily Mail, Observer und The Times. Er reiste vier Jahre lang mit dem Motorrad um die Welt. Sein Buch über diese Reise, „Jupiters Fahrt“ wurde zum Weltbestseller. Es folgten weitere Bücher, u.a. „Jupiters Träume“ über seine zweite Motorradweltreise 2001. Heute lebt er im Norden Kaliforniens.
