Sir Arthur Thomas Quiller-Couch, born on November 21, 1863, in Cornwall, England, was a notable literary figure known for his significant contributions to English literature, both as a writer and editor. Often referred to by his pseudonym ‘Q’, Quiller-Couch attended Clifton College, before studying at Trinity College, Oxford, where he excelled and later was honored as a fellow. His literary style, characterized by its vivid storytelling and deep attachment to the Cornish landscape, has been celebrated for its evocative portrayal of maritime life and the human condition.
Quiller-Couch’s bibliography is extensive, with ‘The Roll-Call Of The Reef, ‘ a testament to his masterful narrative skills and his ability to intertwine drama with the elemental forces of nature.
