Five years have passed since Mateo chose to live among humans, and he had not yet encountered another dragon in his city-until now.
Mateo is content with his choice to leave the austere, artless world of dragons for Earth’s subcultures-but he’s running out of money, and worried that the presence of a clueless newcomer, Zephyr, will attract hunters who traffic in magical creatures. To protect them both, Mateo agrees to teach Zephyr how to blend in among humans, secretly hoping to take advantage of Zephyr’s powers in the process.
