Přemysl Mácha is Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Cultural Geography at the Department of Human Geography, University of Ostrava, Czech Republic. He was Fulbright-Masaryk Scholar at the University of New Mexico in 2005–2006. His interests include the politics of identity, ethnic relations, ethnogenesis, indigenous social movements, and democratization processes in indigenous communities. He is also interested in the politics of place and landscape as it is produced, represented, performed, and embodied in everyday life. Regionally, he specializes in Latin America and Central Europe.Eloy Gómez-Pellón is Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of Cantabria, Spain. He is a member of the Iberoamerican Institute at the University of Salamanca, Spain, where he is involved in the Master”s program in Latin American Studies and the doctoral program in Social Sciences. He has also taught at the University of Bordeaux, France, the University of São José, Brazil, and the Agrarian University of Nicaragua. His current research interests include identities, rural spaces, and rural development, with a particular focus on the peasantry and new ruralities in Latin America.
