Research in the field of non-linear dynamics deals increasingly with current tasks or problems of engineering science which have so far been unsolved. Production and manufacturing systems are one example of new areas of application.
This book is a reference work providing a comprehensive insight into the past development of the application of non-linear dynamics. The fields of applications are production systems in manufacturing and process engineering, mechanical engineering and plant construction and automation technology. The selection of contributions establishes ties between mechanical methods of manufacturing, e.g. high-speed milling, and new methods such as laser welding, laser jet cutting or electrochemical machining procedures reaching the dynamics of production lines and complete production systems.
