India has seen my vicissitudes. It was widely believed that after India attains independence and throws away the foreign yoke, things will become ideal for us—the common Indians. It is a sad confession that malpractices and corruption have taken the country to a low abyss. As per the report of Transparency International of 2010, we are the 87th most corrupt country in the world, with an integrity score of 33 out of 100. India has become a land of scams. My first book contained details of how CBI handled the scams in 1990s. They look peanuts, if you compare them to Commonwealth Games, 2G and Adarsh Housing Cooperative Society scams. NREG or National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme has become another guarantee for the corrupt to loot what really belongs to the poorest of the poor. CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General of India) has estimated the loss to the national exchequer at over 1.75 lakhs crores. The book describes the full story of the 2G scam and the role played by CBI in bringing the guilty to the Court of Law.
