Johannes Salim Ismaiel-Wendt studied cultural studies, sociology and musicology at Universität Bremen. He received his doctorate with the thesis »tracks”n”treks. Populäre Musik und Postkoloniale Analyse« (2011). From 2010-2012 he worked as a research consultant and collaborator at the House of World Cultures in the projects Translating Hip Hop and Global Prayers. Since 2012, he has been a professor for musicology and sociology of music at Universität Hildesheim. His research focuses on music and the genesis of knowledge, popular music and postcolonial analysis.
Andi Schoon is a professor of cultural and media studies at Hochschule der Künste Bern. He studied musicology, German literature and sociology at the Universität Hamburg.
