This book is intended to inform the reader of the dangers of terrorist attacks, to show how attacks can be mounted and, more importantly, to indicate how the consequences of an attack can be mitigated. Terrorist use fear as a weapon; this book shows how an informed public can overcome our natural aversion to all things radioactive and fight back against the potentially paralyzing effects of such an attack.

James William Jones earned a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, founded several successful companies, and served as a White House Fellow with the Office of Science and Technology Policy, Executive Office of the President, Washington, D.C. He and his wife live in Huntington Beach, California. This is his third book.
John R. Haygood earned a B.A. degree in physics at the University of Texas, Austin, and an M.S. degree in Environmental Science, with a major in Health Physics, from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He is also a Texas Licensed Medical Physicist. He has over 30 years of experience in regulation of radiation use as well as an additional 10 years of consulting in radiation regulatory and safety processes. He and his wife live in Austin, Texas.
