A Christmas fairy tale set on Capitol Hill about a cynical politician who wants to become Speaker of the House but lacks the required votes. After eating a magical cookie and having a fantastical adventure with visions of the founding fathers the cynical politician finds the true meaning of America and becomes a Constitutional Patriot. The Congressman ekes out a bipartisan victory to become Squeaker of the House and goes on to pass popular bills for the benefit of all the American People.
Written in verse like The Night Before Christmas, having a plot like Dicken’s A Christmas Carol, and a featuring a cover illustration parodying If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, the humorous political tale conjures a possible future with political goodwill for all.

John Rose graduated with a Humanities and Fine Arts degree in Silicon Valley and was hired immediately into high tech. He was trained in Systems Engineering, Failure Analysis, and Project Management and became a New Product Introduction Planner at Hewlett-Packard’s (Agilent) Signal Analysis Division. He resigned when their US manufacturing was offshored. John Rose is currently President of Liberty Cookies, Inc., a for-profit corporation supplying cookies and patriotic stickers for fundraisers. 100% of Liberty Cookies’ profits go to democratic reforms, civic education, and non-partisan journalism. Rose is founder of the Democracy Awareness Project at www.Democracy Awareness.org which uses Star Spangled Mobius ribbons as a symbol raising awareness and fighting our nation’s cancers of voter apathy, poorly informed citizens, and big money influencing elections. As the only experienced change agent in the race, Rose advocates for a Constitutional Amendment limiting campaign finance. As the proposed amendment is stalled in the Senate due to a filibuster Rose calls for reforming the silent filibuster rule to require public debate of opposition to bills. Rose is a champion for labor rights and won a National Labor Relations Case against his offshoring employer Agilent, but the penalties were non existent and the factory had already been offshored by the time of the ruling. The abuse of labor laws for corporate profits lead to his support for the Pro Act which adds meaningful penalties for labor law violations.
