Circa l’autore

Kenneth Grahame (8 March 1859 6 July 1932) was a Scottish writer, most famous for The Wind in the Willows (1908), one of the classics of children’s literature.
Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany, was an Anglo-Irish writer and dramatist; his work, mostly in the fantasy genre, was published under the name Lord Dunsany. More than ninety books of his work were published in his lifetime, and both original work and compilations have continued to appear. Dunsany’s uvre includes many hundreds of published short stories, as well as plays, novels and essays. He achieved great fame and success with his early short stories and plays, and during the 1910s was considered one of the greatest living writers of the English-speaking world; he is today best known for his 1924 fantasy novel The King of Elfland’s Daughter.
Oscar Wilde was an Irish poet and playwright. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London’s most popular playwrights in the early 1890s. He is best remembered for his epigrams and plays, his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, and the circumstances of his criminal conviction for ‘gross indecency’, imprisonment, and early death at age 46.
Edgar Rice Burroughs was a ranch hand, a salesman and an advertising copywriter before trying fiction in 1911. He found success writing serialized stories for pulp magazines. His jungle adventure novel Tarzan of the Apes (1912) became the first of 25 books featuring Tarzan, the son of an English nobleman abandoned in Africa and raised by apes. He wrote 43 other novels.
John Kendrick Bangs(1862-1922) American humourist, editor, essayist and lecturer. He inspired the term Bangsian fantasy which put a name to the fantastical style of writing of the afterlife which was so much like his own, and that had been seen earlier in such masterpieces as the description of Hell and the voyage across the river Styx in The Epic of Gilgamesh.
