Gabriela Grosseck is an associate professor in the Department of Psychology at the West University of Timisoara, Romania. She is a passionate and dedicated university teacher with over 20 years of experience in the field of digital education. Throughout her career, Gabriela has been actively involved in developing and implementing innovative digital education strategies, with a particular focus on online learning and blended learning environments. She has also been a key player in the field of international education, with special expertise in Erasmus+ projects. She has been involved in more than 20 projects which focused on digital education, working closely with colleagues from different countries to promote cross-cultural exchange and improve the quality of education.
Simona Sava is a professor in the Department of Education at the West University of Timisoara, Romania. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Bucharest, Romania, in distance and online education, became a full professor in 2009, and in 2015, she habilitated there in lifelong learning policies. She was a director of the Romanian Institute of Adult Education from 2000 to 2013. She has also been a member of the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame since 2017 and was a board member between 2021 and 2023, as well as a member of the scientific board of different journals of education. She coordinates Ph.D. theses in digital education, teacher education, educational policies and management.
Georgeta Ion is a professor in the Department of Applied Pedagogy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Spain. She has a degree in Psychology and Educational Sciences from the University of Bucharest, Romania, and a Master’s degree in Educational Management and Evaluation from the same university. Since 2007, she has been a doctor of Educational Sciences from the University of Barcelona. Her research topics are related to educational practices informed by scientific evidence and student evaluation. In the field of evidence-informed educational practices, she has coordinated and participated in projects that explore the factors that affect the use of scientific research in educational improvement, the construction of the research capacity of teachers, and well-founded educational policies. In the field of evaluation, in recent years, she has coordinated and participated in projects on evaluation strategies for the self-regulation of learning, effective peer feedback processes, and evaluation with digital tools.
Laura Maliţa graduated in Informatics (Bachelor degree) and has a Ph.D. in Web Sociology. She is continuously involved in teaching, publishing, and research activities. She is the coordinator of the first Bachelor academic program “Digital media” in West University of Timisoara. Her recent research and publishing interests cover subjects such as digital media and literacy, critical media literacy (including fake news and disinformation), open/distance learning, virtual reality, generative artificial intelligence in higher education (including digital assessment), and also digital minimalism. Since 2000, she has been continuously involved as a member or coordinator in more than 20 international projects, including projects on topics regarding digital assessment in higher education, during and after COVID-19. She was a visiting professor at Deakin University, Melbourne, Australia, and at Beijing Normal University, China, on topics regarding digital media.
