Linda Grant, 1951 als Tochter osteuropäisch-jüdischer Emigranten in Liverpool geboren, gehört seit Langem zur ersten Riege der englischen Literatur. Seit dem David Higham Prize für ihr Debüt 1996 wurde sie vielfach ausgezeichnet, u.a. mit dem Orange Prize for Fiction. Die Presse hat ihre Bücher begeistert aufgenommen, der «Observer» urteilte: «Nichts an Linda Grants Themen ist leicht, aber dennoch ist alles so kunstvoll komponiert, dass man liest, ohne es zu merken, weil die Geschichte so fesselnd ist und süchtig macht.» Linda Grant lebt in London.
