Franz Kafka (born on July 3, 1883 in Prague, Austro-Hungarian Empire; died on June 3, 1924 in Klosterneuburg-Kierling, Austria; sometimes also known as František Kafka in Czech) was a German-speaking author. His main body of work is comprised of numerous narratives along with three fragments of novels (The Trial, The Castle and The Man Who Disappeared). The majority of Kafka”s work was published posthumously and against his last will and testament by Max Brod, a close friend and confidant, whom Kafka had named as executor. Kafka”s work undisputedly belongs to the canon of world literature.
