Martina Klimesova, PhD, is a researcher in conflict resolution and an Associated Fellow at the Institute for Security and Development Policy (ISDP) in Stockholm, Sweden. She has researched and worked on various conflict issues in East and Southeast Asia. In 2011, Dr Klimesova was a Taiwan Fellow at the Institute of International Relations at National Chengchi University (NCCU) in Taipei where she conducted research on disaster diplomacy and Taiwan”s role as a soft power. In 2012, she spent several months working in the field in Muslim Mindanao in the Philippines. She holds a Master”s degree from the Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University and a PhD degree in International Relations from the Department of International Relations at the Institute of Political Studies at Charles University in Prague. Her prime research focus is on peace incentives and third party involvement in peace processes. She is currently a Program Manager at the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI).
