Blanca López de Mariscal received her PhD in History from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico. Her dissertation was published under the title Relatos y Relaciones de viaje al Nuevo Mundo en el siglo XVI (2004). She is currently a Research Professor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, México, where she headed the graduate program in Humanities Studies from 2003 to 2015. She is a member of the prestigious Sistema Nacional de Investigadores/National System of Researchers, Level II. Her publications include Recovering the U.S. Hispanic Literary Heritage Volume IX (2014); Viaje por el Nuevo Mundo: De Guadalupe a Potosí (1599-1605) (2010); and Viajes y Viajeros (2006), among others. Dr López de Mariscal has also published more than sixty articles and participated in a large number of national and international conferences.Donna M. Kabalen de Bichara holds a PhD in Humanities Studies from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. She is a Research Professor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey and served as Chair of the Department of Humanities Studies from 2009 to 2015. She is an appointed member of the advisory board of the Recovering the U.S. Hispanic Literary Heritage Project at the University of Houston, and is a member of the prestigious Sistema Nacional de Investigadores/National System of Researchers, Level I. Her research centres on the recovery of Hispanic print culture, border literature, and autobiographical narratives of Mexican American writers. Her most recent publications include: Recovering the U.S. Hispanic Literary Heritage Volume IX (2014) and Telling Border Life Stories: Four Mexican American Women Writers (2013). In addition to a number of important journal articles, Dr Kabalen de Bichara has participated in over 50 international conferences.Paloma Vargas Montes received a PhD in Hispanic Literature from the Universidad de Navarra, Spain, and a PhD in History and Civilizations from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Tecnológico de Monterrey, México, where she is Lecturer of Medieval Spanish Literature. Her research is based on the application of textual critic methodology for recovering Mexican documents of ethnohistoric value. She has worked with the collections of the Biblioteca Nacional de España, Archivo General de la Nación at Mexico, Bibliothèque Nationale de France and the Biblioteca Cervantina, Tecnológico de Monterrey, and is a researcher on the Project “Teatro, fiesta y ritual en la monarquía hispánica (ss. XVI-XVII)”, supported by the Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad de España.
