The Great Spirit of All Living Things has decided the Bertie has grieved long enough. A Monarch butterfly delivers the Spirit’s message. Suddenly, Bertie’s life has new meaning! She and husband George set out to redefine pornography; rebranding the genre as ‘Intimate Artistry.’ With their persistent attention to detail and marketing genius, the enterprising couple create Marty as the innocent, cherubic image of Intimate Artistry.
Marty gets the finest wardrobes; best directors, speech, and acting coaches; best stage and lighting crews. She’s groomed by the best hairdressers, makeup artists, manicurists, pedicurists, and masseuses. Acting skills, voice diction, fornication and fellatio techniques are practiced and perfected. Bertie produces three spectacular, wildly successful films, challenging established religious beliefs and morality. Marty’s burgeoning cult mania restores Pagan prostitution worship from twenty thousand years ago to America. Goddess Marty endorses products; graces media advertisements; signs autographs. Tabloid columnists rave about her peccadillos. Billionaires, politicians, film, and sports stars seek her intimacy. School girls imitate her unrepentant shameless promiscuity. And the boys adore them.
Predictably, Bertie and George both fall in love with her. Will their FLUTTER BRAND celebrity remain loyal to them, or will she simply flutter away?
‘Inspiration for the Series originated with a recurring premotion. I imagine our world plunging into its Second Dark Ages. Our First Dark Ages cast humanity into a terrible abyss. People died of plagues, starving, and cruelty. Our Second Dark Ages may also have similar abysmal occurrences; but mainly, it will be remembered as the time when many abandoned their morality and accepted the new era’s immorality. Rather than choosing sides in this great moral struggle, the Series’ fictional saga showcases the behaviors of characters caught up in the changing morality; reveals the underlying causes of their behaviors: Greed; Lust; Passion; Romance; Power and Control; Manipulation; Narcissism; Ambition; Jealousy; Revenge; and Love, the most compelling cause of all.

For a man, he must go with a woman, which women don’t understand; or the sort that say they can see it, they aren’t the marrying brand. (Rudyard Kipling: The Mary Gloster)
What is it about our porn stars? Why do they fascinate us; make us wonder about them, and ourselves? Is it the salacious deeds they perform? Their bodies? Are they different from other women; or, like them, all fine martinis; but with added drops of spicey bitters and tarty twists of lime? (Rosemary Ness-Bitner: Author)

Bertie knew what she had! It was there! She saw it! Visions of Olympic gold medals flashed through Bertie’s mind. Amanda was one of only a handful of skaters who had ever performed the extraordinarily difficult, perfect Quadruple Axel. Now Bertie watched closely, her trained eyes riveted on Amanda’s right skate. Could her daughter finish it? Could Amanda, after her blurring spin, land perfectly on her right skate inside edge coming out of her four and a half rotations? Bertie clenched her hands, held them to her mouth and held her breath. Bertie sent her telepathic thought and prayer to Amanda:
’Yes, Amanda, you can do this! Yes, my baby, you will do it! I’m going to be the first person to see you do it!’
Then, horrors of horrors! Disaster struck! It couldn’t be! It must be all a mistake! ‘Noooo!’ Bertie screamed: ‘Noooo!’ …………………………………… Chapter Nine
