Ruth began writing at seventeen when she won first prize in the Atlantic monthly contest for high school students. Educated at Barnard College and with an MEd from Harvard, she has enjoyed a lifelong career in teaching. Through the years, she has been a hobby artist and an occasional but accomplished poet who writes about her observations of life. Now retired, Ruth lives with her husband in Winter Park, Florida, and summers in coastal New England, where she grew up and spent most of her working life. This is her first published collection.
