In response to the emergence of statements in society a few years ago such as ‘private economy exit theory, ‘ ‘new public-private partnership theory, ‘ ‘exploitation theory, ‘ and ‘elimination of private ownership, ‘ national leaders have repeatedly clarified that these views are entirely wrong and do not conform to the party’s major policies and principles. However, the confusion and ideological chaos caused by these statements to the public have not disappeared and continue to ferment within the private economic community, severely affecting private investment, employment, and the healthy development of China’s economy. In order to ‘resolutely resist, and promptly refute and clarify doubts about the basic socialist economic system, and the erroneous views and practices that deny and weaken the private economy, ‘ the theory of China’s private economy urgently needs innovation. Only by starting from the great practice since the reform and opening up, and innovating the principles of economic value creation, especially the roles, contributions, and rewards of entrepreneurs in value creation as investors, risk bearers, managers, innovators, and complex laborers, can various erroneous views be thoroughly clarified and truly ‘guide society to correctly understand the significant contributions and important role of the private economy, and to correctly view the wealth obtained by private economic persons through legal and compliant operations.’The author of this book has found through empirical research that the emergence and phased retreat of private entrepreneurs are closely related to the macroeconomic cycle. By combining the problems faced by private enterprises at different stages since the reform and opening up, the book provides a new theoretical exposition on the role and social responsibility of private entrepreneurs as the final risk bearers and the social enterprise attributes of private enterprises. It then combines the relationship between private enterprises and the market economy to propose that developing and strengthening the private economy should become a long-term goal of the socialist market economy, and how state-owned enterprises and private enterprises can form a ‘tropical rainforest’ type of good economic ecology, and other new theoretical viewpoints. It constructively answers the theoretical understanding issues of Chinese private entrepreneurs, private enterprises, and the private economy in various aspects such as value creation, wealth distribution, building a socialist market economy, and achieving common prosperity. It indirectly responds to and negates the various erroneous views that have been widely circulated in society for a long time, hoping to clear the theoretical understanding obstacles for the development and growth of China’s private economy and promote a more active, more objective, and more era-characteristic atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship in the private economy across the whole society.
