Introduction

In the early days of Sept. 1944, United States forces prepared to invade a small remote island in the South Pacific called Peleliu. Military wisdom dictated the island be passed by and the Philippine Archipelago seized instead. But rumors arose that a legendary power existed on Peleliu and the U.S. decided it must not be allowed to fall into Japanese hands. So the marines went in against all logic and became embroiled in one of the most destructive battles suffered during the war.

Sixty years later Thomas Holland and his elite combat team have returned to Peleliu to search out the legendary dream lost in 1944. They quickly discover the dream is really a hideous nigthmare and Holland’s team must fight not only for their own lives, but for the life of humanity as well.

For twenty long hours World War II is reborn and the fate of the human race awaits its outcome.

Circa l’autore

Born in Oakland California, November 30, 1949 and raised in the Bay Area I’ve always considered the period of this generation as some of the most exciting years a person could experience. The fifty’s saw the Science Fiction of space travel become fact. We survived the turbulent Sixty’s and the freedom of the Seventy’s. We’ve seen an end to the Cold War, plus gained Internet Access to the world. Now as the 21st century dawns we face the insecurity and concerns of our future.
One must wonder at the senseless path of destruction by which mankind seems to govern its existence, as compared to the neat rhythmic beat of conflict, by which nature governs hers.
This world, men presently call home, will one day change and become our prison. Either we seek to escape this haven of today, or live within its hell of tomorrow. Science at one time compared the Earth to a living organism and described people as its parasites. If this is so, will not the planet find a way to protect itself and restore the balance of life and death, which governs us all?
For years I’ve written short tales and stories for local features as well as done cartoons for Web-Sites, this short novel, grew into a story I’ve always wanted to do after reading about the battle on Peleliu during World War 2. I wish to thank everyone who supported me in this effort and especially JM Hookfin for the skills and time given in helping to bring this project to reality.
