This book introduces part of the advances of the aging research conducted by Dr. Yang Wang and his collaborators since 2022. It covers several topics related to older adults, including their psychological and social well-being, their role as caregivers and care receivers, the impact of the maltreatment experience in early life, and how witnessing elder abuse could influence children. Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2019. He is an assistant professor at the Department of Social Work and Social Policy, School of Sociology and Population Studies, Renmin University of China. His research interest lies in gerontological social work and health social work, especially the psychological and social well-being of caregivers and care receivers, as well as the corresponding psycho-social support to them.
Dr. Wang also serves in China Association of Social Workers: Medical Social Work Commission, China Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics: Palliative Care Committee, China Anti-cancer Association: Palliative Care and Education Committee. Since 2020, Dr. Wang has been PI or the primary member of 9 projects.
