P.I. Bertrand Mc Abee never thought he’d see another harness race track after a near-death experience in Cassies Ruler. About the author
Joseph A. Mc Caffrey isn’t a classics professor. He’s not a P.I. either. But he is a professor of philosophy at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. Sometime back he was proposed a job not unlike that which his protagonist, Bertrand Mc Abee, was offered and accepted. The fictional Mc Abee stories are explorations of roads untaken. Other Mc Abee adventures include Cassies Ruler, Confessional Matters, The Pony Circus Wagon, and Scholarly Executions.
