Andrew Carnegie was one of America”s wealthiest businessmen, who started his career working as a telegrapher. At the age of 35, he already had investments in railroads, bridges, and oil derricks. After selling his company Pittsburgh”s Carnegie Steel Company, Carnegie became the richest man in America, surpassing John Rockefeller for a couple of years. He was also known as a philanthropist, for he spent a considerable part of his money on funding schools, universities and establishing libraries.
