About the author

Sharon Powell has worked at Teesside University since 2004, after working as a lecturer in teacher education in the FE sector. She is an adult literacy subject specialist teacher with specific expertise in this area and in training teachers to work with students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. In addition, she has further expertise in the assessment of dyslexia and the delivery of teacher training/education programmes specific to working with dyslexic adults.
