She has been an extramural lecturer in medieval studies at the University of Birmingham and is the author of The Eagle and the Dove (SPCK, 2000), a life of the Celtic pioneer Columbanus, and The Cockleshell Pilgrim: A Medieval Journey to Compostela (SPCK, 2003).
