About the author
Born in New York in 1971, Lawrence Schimel writes in both Spanish and English, and has published over 120 books in different genres. His children’s books include: Read a Book with Me, A Gift for Mama, Everything the Same, and Cecilia and the Dragon. Lawrence has won the Crystal Kite Award from the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and the White Raven Award from the International Youth Library. His books have twice been chosen by IBBY as outstanding books for young readers with disabilities, among other honors. He lives in Madrid, Spain. Besides writing, he is also a literary translator.
