This book is your run-of-the-mill motorcycle/ice hockey story about the rights of girls to receive an education in a fundamentalist Arab country while our protagonists, the most unlikely of allies, flee assassination and repression while riding through the Catskill Mountains of New York state in a page-turner of a novel where it’s sometimes tough to say who is the rescuer and who is the rescuee. In a typical thriller, the hero remains unchanged after the action, and you can confidently meet him again in the next book. This book is not like that. Something really happens here.
