About the author

I first discovered I could write when I was taking college classes in 1996. I had originally planned to become an elementary education teacher; I wanted to teach kindergarten, but after getting a job as a substitute teacher, I realized that wasn’t my true passion. Almost every college class consisted of writing a paper(s), and I usually helped others correct and edit their papers. I am now a forty-six-year-old nana of one grandchild, and it’s taken me quite a few years to get up the courage to pursue writing children’s books, which is my lifelong dream. I have always loved being around small children; I just have a way with them that helps me both relate and communicate with them effectively. My husband, Tony, and I live in a small rural town (Edmonton) that is in Kentucky. We own and operate a small machine shop, where we rebuild engines and work mostly on tractors and agricultural equipment.
