About the author

MARIE MULVEY-ROBERTS is Reader in Literary Studies at the English Department of the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK. She is the editor of the journal
Women’s Writing and author of
Gothic Immortals: The Fiction of the Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross (1990). She has co-edited
Secret Texts: The Literature of Secret Societies (1995) and
Gothic Fiction, Rare Printed Works from the Sadleir-Black Collection (2002-3). Recently she has edited
Writing for their Lives: Death Row USA (2007) and
The Collected Letters of Rosina Bulwer Lytton (2008).
