Martha Frisbee is an avid traveler and culture collector. She has studied in Europe, Canada, and South America. Her fascination with Native cultures is heightened by each book, dance, painting, photo, and piece of hand-crafted jewelry that she encounters. Among her trips, she has visited villages in Ecuador, lands of the Cheyenne, Kootenai, Flathead, and Blackfeet Indians, traveled up Montana’s Bitterroot Valley, and enjoyed a special presentation and meal at Head-Smashed-in-Buffalo Jump (a Siksika World Heritage Site in Alberta, Canada). She is a graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College, where she studied Native American Literature with Dr. Chris La Londe, later majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She currently enjoys gardening, fishing, yarn crafts, and traveling with her husband, Charlie.
