About the author

Michael Lydon was born in Newcastle upon Tyne on his mother’s thirtieth birthday, 2 February 1953. His father was born in Hebburn on Tyne and flew RAF Bomber Command missions over Germany during World War II. Michael has lived most of his life in Newcastle, apart from spells working nationally and in Germany. He studied German and humanities at Newcastle University.
