Alun Jones was born in the heart of the Rhondda mining valleys in South Wales. His father was a miner. He has a Ph.D in chemistry, is a Master of Theology and has been a conductor and organist since his teens. He has led many choirs in both concerts and competitions and has a particular interest in Music Therapy. When a boy, a number of his close relatives suffered serious injuries working down coal-mines. Hence his interest in mining tragedies. He has been married to his wife, Marg, for sixty years, their son is a doctor and their daughter a mathematics consultant, and they have six wonderful grandchildren. Now in his eighties, he still plays golf regularly. This is his first novel.
