Ruth Amanda was born and raised in Canada and has lived from coast to coast including Canada’s Arctic. She and her husband David currently reside in sunny Barbados where Ruth finds lots of inspiration for creating the stories and illustrations that comprise her award-winning children’s books. Ruth’s work has been the recipient of numerous awards including Mom’s Choice Gold Award, Global e Book Award Gold, Purple Dragonfly Award, Royal Dragonfly Award, Book Excellence Award and her first title Geckos in the Garden was the First Place Picture Book in the 2023 Chanticleer International Book Awards.Ruth considers a book a success if she hears loads of giggles or questions from readers and she can often be found taking pictures of or drawing small bugs, frogs and other creatures that will likely be featured in future works.
