Arthur Quiller-Couch, born on November 21, 1863, in Bodmin, Cornwall, was a prolific British writer, poet, and literary critic, known for his significant contributions to English literature and criticism. Often writing under the pseudonym ‘Q’, Quiller-Couch was educated at Clifton College, Oxford University and later became a lecturer at Cambridge. His scholarly pursuits culminated in his anthology series ‘The Oxford Book of English Verse 1250–1900’ and a subsequent series of lectures published as ‘On the Art of Writing’ (1916).
