Dr. Barbara Bennett Peterson is recognized as a world renowned biographer and has published fourteen books related to World, American, and Hawaiian history. She contributes biographical entries to numerous encyclopedias and special collections.
For over thirty years Dr. Peterson was a Professor of History at the University of Hawaii, served as a Fellow of the East-West Center, and a Research Associate at Bishop Museum. Upon retirement she served as a Professor of History at Oregon State University, Portland State University, and at California State University San Bernardino, Palm Desert campus where she taught adults in the Osher Institute of Life Long Learning.
Dr. Barbara Peterson continues to be a Contributing Review Editor for Biography an international journal published by the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is the General Series Editor for Nova Science Publishers’ book series titled First Men, America’s Presidents. She is listed in Who’s Who in America and is married to Dr. Frank L. Peterson Emeritus Professor of Geology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
