Birand Bingül received a degree in journalism with a mi-nor in American Studies at the University of Dortmund. As a reporter, he has worked for the German station Tagesschau and also served as deputy corporate spokesman of the net-work WDR and as head of communications of the network ARD. He is currently managing director of the media com-pany fischer Appelt, advisors. Bingül is the author of several books.
