Johan Cilliers, Prof. Dr., geb. 1954, hat Theologie an der Universität Stellenbosch (Südafrika) und in Heidelberg studiert und dort vor allem bei und mit Rudolf Bohren gearbeitet. Nach 18 Jahren im Gemeindepfarramt kehrte er 2001 als Professor für Homiletik und Liturgie an die Universität Stellenbosch zurück. Derzeit ist er u.a. Präsident der Internationalen Homiletischen Gesellschaft Societas Homiletica.
