On the 24th of January 2020, Deidre, a fifty-nine-year-old civil engineer receives an unanticipated diagnosis of Stage 4 breast cancer which had spread to her lungs and liver. She and her partner, Colin, are shocked by the news, with their plans shattered, and wondering how long they have left together.
As they begin to accept their new situation, they are thrust into the world of Covid 19 with all its consequences, fearing the affect the pandemic will have on Deidre’s treatments, and that the route to a prolonged better life will be seized from her.
As lockdown takes effect, they are forced into isolation and must plan for the most basic activities such as shopping for food and other necessities. But rather than surrender to fear, they decide to meet each challenge positively.

It reflects the challenges faced by those surrounding the patient as they confront the inevitable feelings of inadequacy and powerlessness and adapt to their new circumstances while trying to maintain a normal life.
