Being a mum of two children of mixed heritage, the author Hannah Barker saw first-hand the different experiences and struggles that her children faced, being from two cultures. He didn’t understand why it was so hard to find books featuring a protagonist that he could relate to, which she saw was disheartening. And so it was that The Very Silly Dinosaur Sillysaurus, starring Gio, came to life.
