Michael Mc Keogh is an award-winning business owner and entrepreneur. After a diverse career path that included electrician, police officer, tourist coach driver, immigration consultant, garbage collector and telecommunications project manager, Mike started his company, Fibre Optics Design and Construct, on his dining room table.
It has since been a pivotal part of some of Australia’s biggest infrastructure projects and achieved national acclaim in the electrical and communications industry.
In 2010, Mike suffered critical leg and spinal injuries in a motorbike accident and was faced with the prospect of never walking properly again. Defying medical opinions, Mike not only recovered but set his sights on competing for Australia in his newly-adopted sport, surf ski paddling.
He exceeded all expectations by winning bronze for Australia at the 2017 World Ocean Racing Championships in Hong Kong.
