This book introduces the diagnosis of Emerging Infectious Diseases (EIDs), including newly emerging infectious diseases and also infectious diseases that show resistance to present treatments. Radiographic examinations are of great value in EIDs diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment efficacy assessment and prognosis evaluation. This book covers severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), human avian influenza (H5N1, H7N9), influenza A (H1N1), hand-foot-mouth disease, acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS), viral hepatitis, pulmonary tuberculosis. All seven of these EIDs are associated with high incidence and mortality.
