Ethan Parmley, newly graduated from Harvard Law and on his way to a new job reading law, stops off to check on some property he owns in a small town. There, while canoeing, he comes across a maiden who catches his eye.
The writing is superb, with colorful comparisons and descriptions. It's a short little love-story, a sweet country idyll.
Except for the heroine being a trifle too coy and secretive, it was good. One the hero found out the truth, the ending wrapped up pretty quickly.
