An archaeologist, historian and writer, Dr Rima Hooja is currently Consultant Director at MSMS II Museum, Jaipur, and Managing Trustee of Jaipur Virasat Foundation. She is also Visiting Faculty at St Lawrence University, USA, and Editor of the Journal of Heritage Management, having formerly been a member of the National Monuments Authority Government of India. She received an MA in History from Rajasthan University, India, and a Post-graduate Certificate in Archaeology and a PhD in Archaeology from Cambridge University, UK. Hooja is also a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain & Ireland, and has been Associate Editor of the Indian Book Chronicle since 1987. Her publications include Ahar Culture and Beyond (1998), Environment Degradation (1992), A History of Rajasthan (2006), and Constructing Rajpootana-Rajasthan (2009).
