It reveals how rates of pay in the public sector compare to those in the private sector of each country and how the pay structure is, in all cases, quite different in the two sectors. The book also provides an explanation for the differences in pay between the sectors distinguishing the role played by the quite different institutions for setting public sector pay in the six countries.
